TWILA : May 29, 2026
This week on This Week in Louisiana Agriculture, Louisiana farmers continue to feel the ripple effects of a tough start to 2026. From late freezes and drought to rising costs and storm damage, row crop and poultry producers are working to recover and move forward. We also take a closer look at mental health in agriculture during Mental Health Awareness Month, with powerful voices from recent episodes of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Podcast. Plus, Avery Davidson sits down with Congresswoman Julia Letlow to discuss agriculture, the Farm Bill and her run for the U.S. Senate. Neil Melancon takes us to Tangipahoa Parish, where Braud Farms has adapted over the years by selling beef directly to consumers, and we kick off our Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award finalist series with John and Savannah Scarborough of Scarborough Farms in Lincoln Parish. Plus, we check crawfish prices across the state and visit Many Elementary in Sabine Parish, where Ag in the Classroom is helping students learn about agriculture through a brand-new chicken coop.
